About St. Mary's
St. Mary's is the Anglican Parish Church serving the Village of Datchet. Since 30th April 2008 it is part of the benefice of Colnbrook & Datchet. St. Mary's is a growing Church with an increasing number of young parents and children joining our services.
We are situated on the Green, at the heart of the village which is where we want to be.
'Our Vision' through 2009 and beyond fully supports 'Bishop John's Vision' of "Living Faith & Sharing Life".
Our Worship includes both traditional liturgies and more informal services. There is a strong musical tradition and the Church extends a warm welcome to Worshippers & Visitors from all backgrounds. Our Choir and Music Group suport all styles and ages, the youngest memebr is 8 and the oldest 92! the Choir has in the past few years been the visitng choir at Bath Abbey, Salisbury Cathedral, Guilford Cahtedral, Gloucester Cathedral and February 2010 Winchester Cathedral , with visits to others planned. The music for Easter servcices included praise songs as well as themore tradtional - Barbers Agnus Dei for example.
Children are welcomed to the main Sunday services.
The Church is open to Visitors at all times possible during daylight hours. Normally the Church would be locked again at 4.00pm - 4.30pm unless an evening Service or Activity is planned.
Our joint patrons are the Dean and Canons of St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, and the Bishop of Oxford.
